Biography
Cherry Ge is a pianist whose artistry sits at the intersection of interpretation, collaboration, and social practice. Trained in both anthropology and music, she is drawn to works that document the worlds we inhabit. She has built a career defined by musical curiosity and a genuine commitment to the people music reaches- whether that is audiences at Wigmore Hall, children in underprivileged schools, or participants at art workshops across London.
Equally at home in Messiaen, Bach, newly commissioned works, and improvisation, she is completing a Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music where she continues studying with Christopher Elton. Her playing has been described by The Straits Times, Singapore, as possessing a "keen sense of musical story-telling", and her ensemble work has been praised by The Spectator for its "fierce commitment".
She has won top prizes at numerous international competitions and performs regularly at the UK's leading venues, while also founding ensembles and directing workshops and projects that bring music into unexpected spaces.
